A building can generate continuous video across cameras, entrances, and common areas. Deciding how to process that information is not simply a matter of choosing an AI model.

The task may not need AI at all. If it does, the required capability may be available in the cloud, closer to the building, or at the edge. Privacy, latency, resilience, policy, and cost can all affect which option makes sense.

Not every problem improves when you add AI.

Known rules, calculations, searches, tests, and protected control paths may be handled more reliably. HybridEYES starts there instead of assuming every task needs an AI model.

When intelligence is required, the task may still have several eligible routes. Routine work might call for standard intelligence, while more complex or consequential work may require greater capability. If no automated route can meet the required floor, human review or no action may be the appropriate response.

Video provides a simple example. A known check around video infrastructure may remain deterministic, while interpreting imagery may require AI. Once intelligence is needed, HybridEYES is designed to select more than a model. The route can also account for where the work runs, what context it uses, and what review or fallback is required.

Put Intelligence Closer to the Data When It Helps

Video can generate large amounts of data. In some cases, processing closer to the building or device may reduce latency, limit unnecessary movement of sensitive or high-volume information, or preserve useful operation when connectivity is constrained.

Other tasks may benefit from cloud-scale resources or more capable managed intelligence.

HybridEYES is designed around a placement continuum that can extend from managed and private cloud environments to building infrastructure, edge devices, and restricted or customer-controlled deployments.

Neither cloud nor edge is the default. Placement follows the requirements of the work.

Local execution also does not become inherently more trustworthy because it is local. A building or edge route still has to meet the applicable requirements before it becomes eligible.

Capability and Policy Come Before Cost

Only qualifying routes should compete on cost. From there, HybridEYES considers more than the price of a model call. The economics of an intelligence route can also include infrastructure, context retrieval, tools, retries, review, and rework when the first result is insufficient.

A more capable route may cost more per execution but less overall if it produces an accepted result without repeated attempts. Premium intelligence can also add unnecessary expense when a simpler route already meets the requirement.

HybridEYES evaluates economics by total cost per accepted safe outcome rather than model price alone.

Lower cost never takes precedence over the requirements that made a route eligible in the first place.

Prove What Actually Ran

Selecting an intelligence route is only part of the job. The actual execution also needs to remain visible.

HybridEYES is designed to preserve the requested route and attest relevant details about what actually executed, including the provider, model, runtime, hardware, and placement where applicable. That creates an inspectable record when the intended route and actual route need to be compared.

Route attestation is different from proving that the resulting conclusion is correct. System Health, deterministic checks, and authorized reviewers can provide independent evidence that an outcome was accepted and safe.

Fallback follows the same discipline. If the preferred route becomes unavailable, an alternative still has to meet the original requirements. If none does, the system can escalate to a more capable route, an authorized person, or no action rather than quietly lowering the required floor.
